The Mater Dolorosa

The Mater Dolorosa

Words Spoken by our Blessed Mother of Sorrows to Her Divine Son when He was taken down from the cross and placed into Her arm.

O Font overflowing with truth, how wearied Your countenance. O Wise Physician of human souls, how silent You remain. O Splendor of Eternal Light, how lifeless You are. O Sincere Affection how deformed Your once beautiful face has become. O Most High Divinity, in what poverty You show Yourself. O Love of my heart, how immense is Your Goodness. O Joy everlasting, O Love of my heart, how excessive must have been Your grief. My Dear Jesus, Who is one with the Father and Holy Spirit, being one and the same Divine Nature, have pity on all living creatures, and especially for the suffering souls in Purgatory. Amen

5 Apostle Creeds
1 Hail Holy Queen
1 Our Father - Hail Mary - Gloria

Eternal Rest grant unto them and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May they rest in peace.

This devotion which was found in the Chapel of Polonia has been approved by Pope Innocent XI who granted the following concession, the liberation, of 15 souls from purgatory with plenary Indulgence, by Pope Benedict XIV. The same being approved with an additional indulgence of 100 days by Pope Pio LX. December 1847

We adore thee, Piteous Cross, adorned with the delicate members and Precious Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We adore Thee, O God, nailed to the cross who bleed for love of us.

For the Recitation of this prayer 80,000 years indulgence, and the liberation of 1 soul from purgatory is granted each time.

My Jesus, by the sorrows Thou didst suffer in Thine agony in the Garden, in Thy scourging and crowning with thorns, on the way to Calvary, in Thy Crucifixion and Death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken; do Thou deliver them from the terrible torments they endure; call them and admit them to Thy most sweet embrace in paradise. Amen.
