My Week in the Wounds

My Week in the Wounds

“Everyday of the week enter into one of the Wounds of the Saviour and remain in it with love.”  - Saint Francis of Sales to Saint Jeanne of Chantal

SUNDAY

O my most amiable Lord Jesus, filled with respect, I associate myself to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, your Mother, to adore your Holy Humanity humiliated. I adore the Holy Wound of your Right Hand and I thank You for the infinite love with which You wanted to endure so numerous and cruel sufferings to expiate for my sins which I detest with all my heart. I recommend to You your Cherished People, your Church for which You gave yourself up, out of love. Bless and protect your Vicar on earth.

O my most amiable Lord Jesus, Immolated Lamb, United to the whole Celestial Court and with all the faithful on earth, I adore the Wound of your Left Hand. I thank You, 0 Lord, it is on account of our sins that You have been transfixed. I recommend to You all the dying people of this day. Touch the hearts of the most hardened sinners.

Eternal Father, Father of mercy and God of all consolations, under the movement of your Holy Spirit and through the most pure hands of Mary, I offer You my humble life in union with the Passion and Resurrection of your Son Jesus. Receive his Sacred Wounds which implore mercy for everyone of us and heal the wounds of humanity.

O my most amiable Jesus, You, who for our sins have been struck unto death, I love You. Humbly, I adore the Sacred Wound of your Right Foot. Help all people who want to serve You more closely. Make of your priests and of all your consecrated souls ardent lamps that light and warm up today's world.

O my most amiable Jesus, in union with all the souls that are still detained far from You in the expiatory flames of Purgatory and who yearn to be with You, I adore the Sacred Wound of your Left Foot. Have mercy on those souls that languish while waiting for your mercy. Help the persons tried by the difficulties of life and who walk in darkness. Be their only hope.

Eternal Father, most loving Father, I offer You the Wounds of Jesus crucified and resurrected to heal the wounds of our souls.

O my most amiable Jesus, it is through your sufferings that You have saved the multitudes. You who let Yourself be crushed under the weight of the sins of the world, receive our love, receive our worship. I particularly adore the Wound of your Open Side, your Transfixed Heart. Be our refuge; it is through your Wounds that we are healed.

O my most amiable Lord Jesus, your Holy Face was marred by the wickedness of men, by our sins. The chastisement which brings us peace fell upon You. The Crown of thorns ploughs into your Skull, your venerable Brow, your Sacred Head, Temple of the Divine Wisdom. I love You and adore You, 0 Lord Jesus. The Wound of your Bruised Shoulder, the Wounds of your Lacerated Knees and those of your atrocious scourging are as so many mouths that shout to us your love, amiable Savior. I recommend to You all the miserable and those for whom I must pray and who rely upon my prayers.

Eternal Father, most loving Father, I offer You with my humble life all the Bloody and Triumphant Wounds of your Son Jesus to heal the wounds of humanity.

MONDAY

Through You, Lord Jesus crucified and resurrected, the world will be renewed. Change the hearts, one by one, through contact with your Transfixed Heart, rectify the minds through contact with your Sacred Head crowned with thorns, Temple of the Divine Wisdom; change all our habits through contact with every one of your Bloody and Triumphant Wounds.

O Mary, Sorrowful Mother, offer to the Holy Trinity the Wounds and sufferings of the Sacred Humanity of our Savior Jesus Christ, your Son; to this offering, join our sinful lives with their joys, their pains, their worries, their works.

Lord Jesus crucified, your hands are nailed down; we will be your hands throughout the world, to bless, to work, to nurse, and to serve; your feet are nailed down; everywhere we will bear your Presence and your Word. Yes, 0 beloved Jesus, we will be your Head in humiliation, your Limbs in action, your Heart in love!

Lord Jesus, your Body crucified and resurrected is an immense glowing fire. Every one of your Glorious Wounds radiates beneficial light and redeeming warmth upon the world.

TUESDAY

O my amiable Jesus crucified and resurrected, You are the BOOK of the unlearned and of the simple of heart, the PARDON of sinners, the LIGHT of the unbelievers, the CONQUEROR of the godless, the FIRE that set ablaze the lukewarm. Bea most loving BROTHER, the ALL to the fervent souls.

Eternal Father, most loving Father, under the loving impulse of your Holy Spirit, I offer You the Painful and Glorious Wounds of your beloved Son; receive also, for our salvation, the co-redemptrix tears of his Immaculate Mother.

Mary, Immaculate Mother, compassionate Mother of Jesus crucified, trade our hearts for yours. We give you our heart, our thoughts, our miseries, our wishes, and you will give us your Heart which burns in unison to that of your Son's, with his thoughts, his mercies and his wishes.

With all the Celestial Court, I adore You, 0 Jesus crucified and resurrected, particularly with the angels of God. I cling to You, my only certitude; I hold fast to You, my life-saving buoy.

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, compassionate Mother, you have contemplated the Wounds of Jesus one by one, your motherly Heart has also been deeply transfixed. All those sufferings, you wanted them, accepted them, offered them because they were the Father's will to save us through the Wounds and the Blood of your beloved Son.

WEDNESDAY

Eternal Father, Author of all perfect gift, in order to make us understand your merciful love for us, You have not disdained to send us your only-begotten Son on earth where He lived in the conditions of a slave. It is through love for us that He has wanted to endure his horrible Passion, be scourged, crowned with thorns, be overlaid with wounds and die on the Cross. You have therefore exalted Him by giving Him a Name that is above all names. Lord, your mysteries are unfathomable!

Most loving Father, I offer You my life and my actions, in union with the Holy Wounds of Jesus and the tears of his Blessed Mother.

O Sorrowful Mother, with you, I contemplate, one after the other, the Wounds of your Divine Son. I contemplate those Glorious Wounds through which the sufferings of humanity are transformed into eternal glory.

O Jesus, your Wounds are wide-opened doors to Heaven; remember me in your Paradise.

THURSDAY

O Lord Jesus, You have loved us so much that You have given Yourself up for every one of men; You have become one of us, spoken our language, You the Word, and You have wanted to restore everything in your Blood with which You sprinkled the whole earth. You have given Yourself up into our hands: "Take... eat... for this is my Body"! However, in daily life, men do not believe You and do not trust your love. You, "who has vanquished the world", when, Lord Jesus, will You conquer our mistrusting and incredulous hearts?

Lord Jesus, through your Sacrifice on the Cross, You have kindled the fire of love on hearth. This fire, You wish to see it revived and spread through the whole world so that it become a huge and unextinguishable glowing fire. May the sight of your Wounds, O amiable Jesus, rekindle a simple feeling of compassion in the most hardened hearts. That humble spark, all humane, will suffice to fan the ardour of your Love and then it will burst out like a violent conflagration. Yes, 0 Jesus, You are truly marvelous in your tenderness and your might! Your Glorified Wounds are as so many suns which light and purify hearts. By your sign, the sign of the Cross, you shall conquer!

FRIDAY

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, we often experience confusion but we rarely practice true humility which is the virtue of the trusting, simple and pure souls. It is in the widely-opened Wounds of your Sacred Heart, that through your merits, we shall acquire it. It is there also that we shall understand meekness and gentleness and that we shall renounce our own will as your dead Heart has let itself be transfixed by the lance. May your love teach us renouncement of self, so that we wish only your glory and the salvation of souls.

Lord Jesus crucified and resurrected, let us hear anew your supreme cry of mercy: "Father, pardon them for they do not know what they are doing!" We shall hear You deplore the thirst of souls; we join our voices to yours and shout out a vibrant call to all, particularly to those who oppose it, the revolted, the embittered, the lukewarm, the apostates, and the divorced... Father, hear our sighs united to that of your beloved Son; rectify all minds and purify all hearts in the love of your Holy Spirit.

O Jesus, the absence of your apostle Peter on Calvary has torn your Heart; it was then that your imploring gaze was directed towards a criminal who was insulting You. Cast, 0 Lord, a glance of kindness and love upon us as You did for the thief, and after his example, repentant, grant us to openly proclaim your glory, being assured of your might and mercy.

SATURDAY

O Mary, Sorrowful Mother, you want to bring everyone of us to recognize your Son crucified and resurrected as our only Savior; unite our lives to His and His Sacrifice, offer them to our common Heavenly Father. Gather us all in the Wounds of Jesus as in a safe shelter. You are, 0 Mary, the mother of the weak, the suffering, the discouraged, the embittered, the revolted and the soiled. We rely upon you to lead us, full of hope, to the foot of the Crucifix, the standard of the Holy Church. Make us all zealous and faithful standard-bearers.

O Mary, Immaculate Mother, the Wounds of your Son Jesus are eternally engraved in your Heart; grant us that, for us also, his Sacred Wounds be deeply imprinted in our hearts.

In your Glorious Wounds, Lord Jesus, I have nothing to fear neither from myself, nor from others, nor from the devil; You are, 0 Jesus, my shield, my ram part, my refuge, my rock; before whom should I tremble?

Most Holy Father, most Merciful Father, through the breath of your Spirit and the most pure hands of Mary, I offer You my humble life, the cruel Passion of your Son, his transfixed Heart, his Sacred Head crowned with thorns, his Holy Face marred, his Precious Blood, the Wounds of his Hands, of his Feet, of his Shoulder and of all his dislocated Body. Father, receive this infinite offering and make us the zealous apostles and the faithful companions of Jesus crucified and resurrected and of Mary Immaculate.

Lord Jesus, we lay our humble lives in your Sacred Wounds; make us participants of your Divinity so that with You and all humanity, we constitute a pure offering to the glory of our Heavenly Father.

O my Jesus, through the merits of your Holy Wounds and your Precious Blood, we beseech You, inflame with the zeal of your love and your glory all the priests of the world, all the missionaries and every one of us, so that we proclaim your Word and, by so doing, the souls be taken away from the devil and led into the asylum of your Heart where they will, with You, eternally be able to glorify the infinite mercy of the Father. Amen.

The Five Holy Wounds

The Five Holy Wounds

Repeat any one of the following ejaculations five times in honor of the Five Holy Wounds of Our Lord:

Jesus, Saviour of the world, have mercy on me. You to Whom nothing is impossible, bestow mercy to the wretched.

O Christ, Who by Your Cross has redeemed the world, hear us.

Hail, Jesus, my loving Spouse. I salute You in the ineffable joys of Your divinity; I embrace You with the affection of all creatures, and I kiss the sacred wound of Your love.

The Lord is my strength and my glory; He is my salvation.

Our Lord made known to St. Gertrude that if any one of the above ejaculations is repeated five times in honor of the Five Wounds of the Lord, spiritually kissing the wounds devoutly, adding some prayers or good works, and offering them through the Heart of Jesus, they will be as acceptable to God as the most difficult devotion.

Revelations and Promises of the Five Holy Wounds

Revelations and Promises of the Five Holy Wounds

"Plunge your actions into My Wounds and they will be of value.  All your actions, even the least, soaked in My Blood, will acquire by this alone an infinite merit and will please My Heart."

"In offering My Wounds for the conversion of sinners, even though the sinners are not converted, you will have the same merit before God as if they were."

"When you have some trouble, something to suffer, quickly place it in My Wounds, and the pain will be alleviated."

"This aspiration must often be repeated near the sick:  "My Jesus, pardon and mercy through the merits of Your Holy Wounds!"  This prayer will solace soul and body."

These Promises were dictated by Our Lord to Sr. Mary Martha Chambon of the Monastery of the Visitation of Chambery (1841-1907) (who died in the odor of sanctity)

for all those who honor Him with devotion to His Holy Wounds.

1. "At each word that you pronounce of the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds, I allow a drop of My Blood to fall upon the soul of a sinner."

2. "Each time that you offer to My Father the merits of My Divine Wounds, you win an immense fortune."

3. "Souls that will have contemplated and honored My crown of thorns on earth, will be My crown of glory in Heaven!"

4. "I will grant all that is asked of Me through the invocation of My Holy Wounds.  You will obtain everything, because it is through the merit of My Blood, which is of infinite price.  With My Wounds and My Divine Heart, everything can be obtained."

5. "From My Wounds proceed fruits of sanctity.  As gold purified in the crucible becomes more beautiful, so you must put your soul and those of your companions into My Sacred Wounds; there they will become perfected as gold in the furnace.  You can always purify yourself in My Wounds."

6. "My Wounds will repair yours.  My Wounds will cover all your faults.  Those who honor them will have a true knowledge of Jesus Christ.  In meditation on them, you will always find a new love.  My Wounds will cover all your sins."

11. "A sinner who will say the following prayer will obtain conversion: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls."

12. "There will be no death for the soul that expires in My Holy Wounds; they give true life."

13. "This chaplet is a counterpoise to My Justice; it restrains My Vengeance."

14. "Those who pray with humility and who meditate on My Passion, will one day participate in the glory of My Divine Wounds."

15. "The more you will have contemplated My painful Wounds on this earth, the higher will be your contemplation of them glorious in Heaven."

16. "The soul who during life has honored the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ and offered them to the Eternal Father for the Souls in Purgatory, will be accompanied at the moment of death by the Holy Virgin and the angels; and Our Lord on the Cross, all brilliant in glory, will receive her and crown her."

17. "The invocations of the Holy Wounds will obtain an incessant victory for the Church."

Prayers of St Clare of Assisi

Prayers of St Clare of Assisi

I. To the Wound in the Right Hand.
PRAISE be to Thee, O JESUS CHRIST, for the most sacred wound in thy Right Hand. By this adorable wound, and by thy most sacred Passion, pardon me all the sins I have committed against Thee in thought, word and deed, and all negligence in thy service, and all sensuality for which I have been to blame whether asleep or awake. Grant that I may be able to recall with devotion thy most pitiful death and sacred wounds ; grant me the grace to mortify my body, and so to offer a pledge of my gratitude to Thee, who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
PATER Noster, Ave Maria.

II. To the Wound in the Left Hand.
PRAISE and glory be to Thee, O sweetest JESUS CHRIST, for the most sacred wound in thy Left Hand. By this adorable wound, have mercy on me, and deign to root out of my heart everything displeasing to Thee. Give me the victory over thy perverse enemies, so that with thy grace I may be able to overcome them; and by the merits of thy most pitiful death save me from all the dangers of my present and future life; and then, grant that I may share thy glory in heaven, who livest and reignest for ever and ever.  Amen.
PATER Noster, Ave Maria.

III. To the Wound in the Right Foot.
PRAISE and glory be to Thee, O sweet JESUS CHRIST, for the most sacred wound in thy Right Foot; and by that adorable wound, grant me grace to do penance for my sins. And by thy most pitiful death I devoutly beg of Thee to keep me, thy poor servant, united, night and day, to thy holy will, and to remove afar off every misfortune of body and soul. And when the day of wrath shall come, receive me into thy mercy, and lead me to eternal happiness. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
PATER Noster, Ave Maria.

IV. To the Wound in the Left Foot.
PRAISE and glory be to Thee, most merciful JESUS CHRIST, for the most sacred wound in thy Left Foot; and by this adorable wound, grant me the grace of a full pardon, that with thine aid I may deserve to escape the sentence of eternal reprobation. I pray Thee, moreover, by thy most holy death, O my loving REDEEMER, that I may be able before my death to receive the sacrament of thy Body and Blood, after confession of my sins, and with perfect repentance and purity of body and mind. Grant that I may merit also to receive the holy anointing, for my eternal salvation, O LORD, who liveth and reigneth world without end. Amen.
PATER Noster, Ave Maria.

V. To the Wound in the sacred Side.
PRAISE and glory be to Thee, most loving JESUS CHRIST, for the most sacred wound in thy Side, and by that adorable wound, and by thy infinite mercy, which Thou didst make known in the opening of thy Breast to the soldier Longinus, and so to us all, I pray Thee, O most gentle JESUS, that having redeemed me by baptism from original sin, so now by thy Precious Blood, which is offered and received throughout the world, deliver me from all evils, past, present and to come. And by thy most bitter death give me a lively faith, a firm hope, and a perfect charity, so that I may love Thee with all my heart, and all my soul, and all my strength; make me firm and steadfast in good works, and grant me perseverance in thy service, so that I may be able to please Thee always. Amen.
PATER Noster, Ave Maria.

V/. We adore Thee, O CHRIST, and we bless Thee.
R/. Because by thy death and Blood Thou hast redeemed the world.

Let us pray.
ALMIGHTY and everlasting GOD, who by the five wounds of thy SON, our LORD JESUS CHRIST, hast redeemed the human race, grant to thy suppliants that we who daily venerate those wounds may, by the shedding of his Precious Blood, be freed from sudden and everlasting death. Through the same CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

Revelation on the Most Holy Wounds

Revelation on the Most Holy Wounds

Eternal Father I offer Thee the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.  My Jesus, pardon and mercy through the merits of Thy Sacred Wounds.

"Come to My Wounds with hearts burning with love, and make the aspirations with great fervor that you may obtain the graces and favors you desire.  Come to this wound in My Side; it is the Wound of Love from which issue flames of fire""You must pray that the knowledge of My Sacred Wounds may spread in the world".  (As He said these words, Sr. Mary Martha saw five luminous rays of glory issue from the Wounds of Christ, and envelop the globe.)

"My Holy Wounds sanctify souls and insure their spiritual advancement...Offer Me your actions united to My Sacred Wounds, and even the smallest will have an incomprehensible value"

Offer them often to Me for sinners because I thirst for souls. At each word of the invocation that you utter, I will let a drop of My Blood fall upon the soul of a sinner."

"When you offer My Holy Wounds for sinners, you must not forget to do so for the souls in Purgatory, as there are but few who think of their relief.  The Holy Wounds are the treasure of treasures for the souls in Purgatory."

The tepid, who devote little time to prayer,
The indolent, who neglect to perform good works,

Those who blaspheme and commitsacrilege,
Those who violate the dignity of the human body and mind through impurity,
Those who sin because of my sins and bad example,
Those who do not provide for the life hereafter,
Those whose judgment will be severe because of the great things entrusted to them,

The pope, kings and rulers,
The bishops and their counselors,

My teachers and spiritual advisors,

The priests of this diocese,
The priests and religious of the Catholic Church,
The defenders of the holy Catholic Faith,

Those who die on the battlefield,
Those who fight for their country,
Those who will be buried in the sea,
Those who are to die suddenly, in accidents and from other causes,
Those who will die of heart attacks,
Those who suffer with cancer,
Those who suffer with AIDS,
Those who shall die without the last rites of the Church,
Those who shall die within the next twenty-four hours,

For Catholic apostates, heretics, and other unbelievers,
For Catholics who hold Masonic membership or in other secret societies,
For the conversion of the Jews, Thy chosen people of old,
For abortionsists and those who aid them,
For women who seek abortions,
For those who promote or practicre contraception,
For those who give scandal, especially to children,

My own poor soul when I shall have to appear before Thy judgment seat.

PRAYER
Final perseverance and pardon grant unto all of these, O Lord; and let Thy graces through these petitions flow unto them and be fruitful.  Amen.

Hymn to the Wounds

Hymn to the Wounds

Oh! Sacred Feet, all gashed and torn,
Bruised by the hammer's cruel blows,
Bathed in the life-blood dripping down
   From anguished Heart in bitter throes;
I press You to my lips in tears,
   With contrite sorrow, fervent sigh.
Dear precious Wounds, God's bleeding prayers,
Ah! plead for me when death draws nigh.

Oh, Mangled Hands, transfixed and wan,
in suppliance raised to Heaven above,
Pierced by the nails that torture wrung,
   From breaking Heart of burning love;
I press You to my lips in tears,
   With contrite sorrow, fervent sigh.
Dear precious Wounds, God's bleeding prayers,
Ah! plead for me when death draws nigh.

Oh! Sacred Refuge, tender Side,
Rent by the lance with cruel thrust,
There, where His Heart is, let me hide,
There, where His love is, let me trust.

I press Thee to my lips in tears,
   With contrite sorrow, fervent sigh.
Most Holy Wound, allay my fears,
Recieve my soul when death draws nigh.

Three Prayers to the Most Holy Wounds

Three Prayers to the Most Holy Wounds

PRAYER TO THE WOUNDS OF THE HANDS OF JESUS
Holy wound of the left hand of my Jesus, I adore Thee; I compassionate Thee, O Jesus, for the most bitter pain which Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee for having in Thy love spared me the scourges and eternal damnation which my sins have merited. I offer to the Eternal Father the pain and love of They most holy humanity: and I pray Thee to teach me how to turn to good account my span of life, and bring forth in it worthy fruits of penance, and to disarm the justice of God, which I have provoked.

Holy wound of the right hand of my Jesus, I adore Thee; I compassionate Thee, O Jesus, for the most bitter pain which Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee for Thy graces lavished on me with such love, in spite of all my most perverse obstinacy. I offer to the Eternal Father all the pain and love of Thy most holy humanity; and I pray Thee to change my heart and its affections, and make me do all my actions in accordance with the will of God.

PRAYER TO THE WOUNDS OF THE FEET OF JESUS

Holy wound of the left foot of my Jesus, I adore Thee; I compassionate Thee, O Jesus, for the most bitter pain which Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee for the love whereby Thou laboured to overtake me on the way to ruin, and didst bleed amid the thorns and brambles of my sins. I offer to the Eternal Father the pain and love of Thy most holy humanity, in atonement for my sins, all of which I detest with sincere and bitter contrition.

Holy wound of the right foot of my Jesus, I adore Thee; I compassionate Thee, O Jesus, for the most bitter pain which Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee for that love which pierced Thee with such torture and shedding of blood, in order to punish my wanderings and the guilty pleasures I have granted to my unbridled passions. I offer the Eternal Father all the pain and love of Thy most holy humanity, and I pray Thee for grace to weep over my sins with hot tears, and to enable me to persevere in the good which I have begun, without ever swerving again from my obedience to the divine commands.

PRAYER TO THE WOUND OF THE SACRED SIDE OF JESUS

Holy wound in the side of my Jesus, I adore Thee; I compassionate Thee, O Jesus, for the cruel insult Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee, my Jesus, for the love which suffered Thy side and Heart to be pierced, so that the last drops of blood and water might issue forth, making my redemption to overflow. I offer to the Eternal Father this outrage, and the love of Thy most holy humanity, that my soul may enter once for all into that most loving Heart, eager and ready to receive the greatest sinners, and never more depart.

St. Clare's Litany of the Sacred Wounds

St. Clare's Litany of the Sacred Wounds

Praise and honor be given Thee, O my Lord Jesus Christ, by reason of the Sacred Wound in Thy Right Hand. By this adorable wound, I beseech Thee to pardon me all the sins I have committed by thoughts, words and deeds, by neglect in Thy service, and by self-indulgence, both waking and sleeping. Grant me the grace that, by a devout and frequent remembrance of Thy Holy Passion, I may honor Thy sacred wounds and the death which Thou didst endure for love of me; and that, by chastising my body, I may testify my gratitude for Thy sufferings and Thy death: Who livest and reignest, world without end. R. Amen.

Our Father.... Hail Mary......

Praise and honor be given Thee, O most amiable Jesus, by reason of the Sacred Wound in Thy Left Hand. By this holy wound, I beseech Thee to have pity on me and to change within me whatever is displeasing to Thee. Grant me to be victorious over Thine enemies, so that, by the power of Thy grace, I may overcome them; and do Thou, by Thy holy and adorable death, deliver me from all dangers, present and to come, and make me worthy to share in the glory of Thy Blessed Kingdom: Who livest and reignest, world without end. R. Amen.

Our Father.... Hail Mary......

Praise and honor be given Thee, O sweetest Jesus, by reason of the Sacred Wound in Thy Right Foot. By this holy and adorable wound, I beseech Thee to enable me to bring forth worthy fruits of penance for my sins. I humbly entreat Thee, for the sake of Thine adorable death, to keep me, day and night, in Thy holy will, to preserve me from all adversity of soul and body, and, on the dreadful day of judgment, to deal with me according to Thy mercy, that I may obtain eternal joys: Who livest and reignest, world without end. R. Amen.

Our Father.... Hail Mary......

Praise and honor be given Thee, O sweet and merciful Jesus, by reason of the Sacred Wound in Thy Left Foot. By this adorable wound, I beseech Thee to grant me pardon and full remission of all my sins, so that, with Thine aid, I may escape the rigors of justice. I entreat Thee, O good and merciful Jesus, for the sake of Thy Holy Death, to grant that at the hour of my death, I may have the grace to confess my sins with a perfect contrition, to receive the adorable Sacrament of Thy Body and Thy Blood, and likewise, the holy Sacrament of Extreme Unction for my eternal salvation: Who livest and reignest, world without end. R. Amen.

Our Father.... Hail Mary......

Praise and honor be given Thee, O good and sweetest Jesus, by reason of the Wound in Thy Sacred Side. By this adorable wound and by that immense mercy shown Longinus and to us all, in allowing Thy Sacred Side to be opened, I beseech Thee, O good Jesus, that as in Baptism Thou didst purify me from original sin, so now Thou wouldst be pleased, by the merits of Thy Most Precious Blood, Which is offered up this day over the whole world, to deliver me from all evils, past, present, and to come. I entreat Thee, by Thy bitter death, to give me a lively faith, a firm hope, and perfect charity, so that I may love Thee with my whole heart, with my whole soul, and with all my strength. Uphold me by Thy grace in the practice of good works, so that I may persevere to the end in Thy holy service and glorify Thee in time and eternity. R. Amen.

Our Father.... Hail Mary......

V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee. R. Because, by Thy death and Thy precious blood, Thou hast redeemed the world.

Let us pray. O Almighty and Eternal God, Who hast ransomed the human race by the five wounds of Thy Son, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: we beseech Thee, by the merits of His precious blood, to grant unto us, who, each day, venerate these same adorable wounds, to be delivered from a sudden and unprovided death: Through the same Jesus Christ Thy Son, Our Lord, Who with Thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth, one God, world without end. R. Amen
